Located in section #23 on Mill road at its intersection with CR #750S in Wayne Township, Henry County, IN. Henry Ballenger deeded this old cemetery on 22 June 1836 to Elm Grove Friends church trustees William Edwards, Samuel Pritchard and William Macy for the use of the church as a house of worship and a burial grounds for use of its members. The church was in service until about 1882. In later years the church was across the road and a little southeast of the cemetery. At one time the area was known as the "Elm Grove Neighborhood" because the grove of elm trees in the area. Some of the early pioneers who lived in the area at the time were; The Byrkit's, Macy's, Heaton's, Hiatt's, Edwards and Parkhurst's, all early pioneer Quakers.    The cemetery is mowed and maintained by the Wayne township trustee, but many of the stones are down and/or missing and are piled in the middle of the cemetery and along the fence rows.    R.
