Sometime on the night of Tuesday, July 23rd, vandals did considerable damage to the old Greensboro Duck Creek Friends cemetery. This cemetery dates back to 1823, when the area was first settled by members of the Friends (Quakers) church from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. I went out there this morning and saw there were a lot of concerned citizens of Henry County checking to see how much damages was done, especially to their ancestor's grave markers. News crews from television stations channels 6 and 13 were there to cover the news for their viewers for this evenings (July 26) 5:00 pm broadcast. The Henry County, IN Crime Stoppers Association is offering a $1,000.00 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this damage. If you have any information that can help bring these vandals to just, please contact the Henry County Sheriff's Department at (765) 529-4901. Henry County Sheriff's Deputy James Goodwin is handling the case.
