The Sarah Winston Henry Chapter of the DAR and The Continental Chapter of the SAR from Muncie, IN will be in charge the ceremonies. The Indiana State SAR Honor Guard will be participating in the Ceremony. Several descendents of Christopher Long will be attending the ceremony from out of State. The public is invited to attend the ceremony. The monument is located at the intersection of County Road 200S and County Road 500E. Anyone who does not know how to get to the monument can meet at the Henry County Historical Society Museum at 3:00 pm then proceed from there to the monument. Christopher Long was a Color Sergeant at the battle of Yorktown. He also served with Gen. George Washington at Vally Forge VA. He served with three different Virginia counties, Culpepper, Botetcourt and Henry County, VA. He was one of six Long brothers who served throughout the war. See the damaged monument.
